Métis Youth
St. Albert Métis District is dedicated to empowering and engaging our youth through dynamic events and programs that celebrate Métis culture, heritage, and identity. Our youth engagement initiatives focus on fostering a strong sense of pride and connection to Métis traditions, while also providing opportunities for personal growth, leadership and community involvement. Whether it’s through cultural workshops, outdoor activities, sports or leadership training, our events are designed to inspire and educate the next generation of Métis leaders. By participating in these programs, youth can build lasting friendships, develop valuable skills, and deepen their understanding of Métis history and values. We are committed to supporting our youth as they navigate their unique journeys and contribute to the continued vitality of our Métis community.

Windbreakers Run Club
We’re excited to launch a unique running club for Indigenous youth grades 7-12, led by St. Albert teacher Jarod Letendre and proudly organized in collaboration with Métis Local 1904. Our club focuses on more than just running, we also emphasize the importance of culture.
What we offer:
– Free Long-Distance Running Training: Develop endurance and strength with professional guidance, training twice a week on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
– Cultural Education: Engage with and learn about the traditions and histories of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples through respected elders and guest speakers.
We believe in nurturing both the body and spirit of our young Indigenous runners, helping them gain a greater appreciation for their culture, all while building physical fitness.
Join us in this exciting adventure! Stay tuned for updates on training sessions, events, and more.
